Our story, in our own words
What began as a summer job helping a family friend in 2009 has grown into a passion and a profession. Over the past 16 years, I’ve earned multiple certifications in textile cleaning, gaining the knowledge and experience needed to launch Downs Pro Cleaning with confidence and care.
At Downs Pro Cleaning, we believe a clean home should also be a safe one—especially for your children and pets. That’s why we specialize in eco-friendly floor and furniture cleaning that’s tough on dirt, stains, and odors, but gentle on paws, hands, and little feet.
We bring a personal touch to every job, treating your home with the same care and respect we give our own. Inspired by the birth of our daughter, my wife and I are more motivated than ever to provide families with the safest, most thorough, and most professional textile cleaning experience in the industry.
What Downs Pro Cleaning does
Everything we do comes down to textiles and hard flooring, and the split below matters more than it looks. Most of the work happens at your address, because carpet, upholstery, tile and wood all have to be cleaned where they are. Rugs are the exception. A rug can be lifted, so it goes back to a facility built for it and comes home afterwards.

About Downs Pro Cleaning FAQs
Who actually turns up to do the cleaning?
We are a family-owned and operated business, not a franchise, so the people who come to your house are the people whose name is on the van. That is also why the same person tends to answer the phone and remember what happened at your address last time. There is no branch office in between you and the work.
What do you clean, and what do you not clean?
We clean carpet, upholstery, tile and grout, wood floors, and Oriental and area rugs. Carpet, upholstery and hard floors are cleaned in your home. Rugs go back to our facility, because they need dusting, immersion, rinsing and controlled drying that cannot be done on a living room floor. Anything outside textiles and hard flooring is not our trade and we will say so.
Are your cleaning products safe around children and pets?
That is the reason we work the way we do. We specialize in eco-friendly floor and furniture cleaning, and the solutions we use are chosen to be tough on dirt, stains and odors while staying gentle around paws, hands and little feet. If anyone in the house has allergies or a respiratory condition, tell us before the visit so it is factored in.
Do you work outside Orange County?
Orange County is our working area. Fountain Valley, Irvine, Huntington Beach and Newport Beach have pages of their own, and we cover the surrounding communities too. If you are just outside and want to ask, call us. We would rather give you a straight answer than take a booking we cannot serve properly.
How do you decide which cleaning method to use?
The material decides it, not the schedule. Fiber type, finish and construction are identified before anything is applied, because the same method that suits a synthetic carpet can shrink wool, etch natural stone or lift a wood finish. That inspection step is the part that keeps a cleaning job from turning into a repair job.
